BOB BLACK (MANAGING DIRECTOR)

 

Bob left school at 15 with a highest break in snooker of 78.

 

Started work as an apprentice bricklayer with Kidman & Son of Victoria Road, Cambridge.

 

Attended the Cambridge College of Arts & Technology and gained Pass, Credit and Distinction in both Craft and Advanced Craft.

 

Worked for a short period in Germany (Auf Wiedersehen Pet!) before returning to the UK to start up a sole trading building business which in 1989 became a Limited Company.

 

Other interests include work, work and more work!  Limited relaxation time is filled with pursuing a variety of sports, and as those close to him know, the acquisition of accompanying natty sporting equipment.

 

Having taken up skiing a few years ago (the gear is great!) he  became a helper with the Uphill Ski Club of Great Britain & BSCD (The British Ski Club For The Disabled) both national charity’s providing access to snowsports for people with disabilities.

Since August 2007 and with partner Bridget they became slope organisers for Adaptive Snowsports Milton Keynes, www.asmk.org.uk a local group of Disability Snowsport United Kingdom, www.disabilitysnowsport.org. ASMK is the largest group in Britain providing access to snowsports for people with disabilities. To date he holds the ASSI qualification. The Artificial Slope Ski Instructor (ASSI) training programme is designed to train and qualify responsible skiers who are primarily interested in instructing alpine skiing on artificial skiing surfaces. The primary role of the ASSI is to introduce novice skiers to the sport of skiing in safety, with enjoyment and to do so in such a way as to prepare them for further learning. His main passion in skiing is  Adaptive Skiing (skiing for disabled).
