Aims
As a small family concern we have been in the construction industry for over 70 years. Our work consists of both Public & Private Sector. Building Executive, Contemporary & Traditional Period Style Homes, House Extensions, Refurbishment’s, Alterations and all associated works.
We specialise in Listed Period Renovation using all forms of traditional skills and materials. We are an environmentally aware company with a 100% carbon offset policy.

Our investment in the future reflects the fact that a high percentage of our workforce are currently undertaking apprenticeships.

I am Bridget's biggest fan and critic. Her ability to bring collaboration to all parties during a project is remarkable. She delivers an incredibly high quality finish and her attention to detail is second to none. She works longer and harder than anybody I know. A true inspiration to all women in the industry.
Stuart Harrison
Director
Stuart has extensive knowledge and experience of the planning process, including planning law, enforcement and Building Regulations, having for the past 30 + years designed and submitted applications for many new buildings, together with extensions and conversions including both Listed Building and Conservation Area consents where necessary.

Carrie has been our H&S Advisor for the past 20 years. She prepares all of our RAMS, H&S Policies and O&M Manuals. Advising on all aspects of CDM and updating information on all changes in legislation.
I pride myself on diligence, but I met my match with Carrie.
Trevor Smith

Architect
A creative Chartered Architectural Technologist who is focused on delivering high quality design solutions with a proven track record and experience of delivering residential architecture projects for all stages of the design process.
Experience Technologist who is able to work through all design stages of the design process from generating design ideas with clients, gaining planning consent, obtaining building regulations approval, advising on party wall act matters, production of construction drawings and documents, managing the tender process and controlling the project administration of construction projects.
Passionate about engaging and problem solving as part of a team or individually with specialist skills in the production of design and construction drawings to ensure the build process runs as smoothly as possible. Qualified with a BSC Honours Degree in Architectural Technology with 15 years of Architectural Design experience.
SERVICES
Design & Build
We can provide an in house single entitety Design and Build Service. Procurement, feasibility and financial planning, incorporating all CAD Design and Structural Calculations. Our aim is to Design and Build on budget and to timelines.
Construction Phase
Construction is undertaken by our directly employed staff and domestic sub-contract supply chain. We have always put customer satisfaction before short term gain. This is reflected in the fact that over 90% of our work is from existing customers and referrals.
Project Management
Our company structure of contract and site managers enable us to Project Manage all aspects of construction work. All sites have an experienced site manager who can provide the collaboration required to deliver a successful project.

We worked with Bob Black Construction on the delivery of a four bed private house and I cannot recommend their services enough. Their attention to detail shone through from the tender stage, and this has followed through all the way to construction as they have diligently delivered our design details. They are professional whilst still bringing a lovely feeling of community to a build, for both the client + design team this was a great environment to be a part of. At Bob Black Construction we do our best to protect the environment and lower our carbon footprint. A few small things we do is to recycle as much of our waste as possible, return pallets to merchants and dispose of contentious materials correctly.
If we are in an area where there is a lot of rubbish we will do regular litter picks to clear up the area.
We have also got "Bobs Bike" which employees can use anytime they are going somewhere local to avoid them driving. Where possible all of our employees will vehicle share to lower emissions.
These are just a few examples of our green practises.
The construction industry is the 2nd largest contributor to plastic waste and here at Bob Black Construction we are doing our part to lower this. If we receive materials in excess packaging we will feedback this to the supplier so they can address the issue and implement practices to lower their own wastage.
